Last Chance for an Extension:

The IRS is not offering interest-free loans to taxpayers.

More time to file is not more time to pay. An extension to file will give you until mid October to file your taxes. It does not, however, give you more time to pay your taxes. Estimate and pay what you owe by April 15 to avoid a potential late fee. Penalties & interest accrue on unpaid balances. (From IRS Website.)

How it works:

An extension extends the time you have to file your taxes, not the time you have to pay them. Penalties & interest accrue on unpaid balances.

If you would like me to file an extension, please contact me by email to request before the April 15th deadline. I can not file an extension on your behalf if I don't hear from you.

Some basic information is required to determine if you owe money, and if you have funds available to pay what you owe. Be prepared to submit your tax docs and banking info. Additional fees may apply.

Extensions will be completed and filed in the order information is received, while time permits.

Please note that I will not file an extension for you unless you request that I do so.

Also please note: Identification information is needed. I will need to enter your (and spouse’s if filing jointly) Drivers License or State ID information. Or you can upload an image of the front and back of your ID as well. This is required information that needs to be entered each year to process extensions.

Efile Forms:

In order for your return to be submitted electronically a Federal and State efile forms will need to be signed and dated and returned to our office. All electronic returns require signed efile authorization forms to file your return. (One for IRS and one for state.)  We will be using ESignature to simplify this process. ESignature also allows you to pay my fee online.
